SPENDLY
Spendly brings clarity to recurring spending by organizing all subscriptions in one place, automating reminders, and empowering users to make informed financial decisions with real-time insights.
Year :
2025
Project Duration :
6 weeks

Problem :
Managing multiple digital subscriptions has become increasingly complex as users juggle streaming apps, productivity tools, and other recurring services across different platforms. Without a centralized system to track renewal dates and monthly spending, people often lose visibility over their expenses — leading to surprise charges, unused subscriptions, and poor budgeting decisions.
Existing tools offer basic expense tracking but lack subscription-specific features like reminders, usage insights, and easy cancellation. This creates a clear opportunity to design a solution that empowers users with transparency and control over their recurring spending.

Solution :
Spendly introduces a simplified and centralized platform designed to help users manage all their subscriptions in one place. The solution provides real-time visibility into active plans, renewal dates, monthly spending, and usage patterns—enabling users to make informed financial decisions. Automated reminders prevent unexpected charges, while smart insights highlight underused or redundant subscriptions that can be cancelled with ease. By combining clarity, control, and proactive guidance, Spendly transforms subscription management from a confusing and reactive process into an organized and confident financial experience.

Challenge :
Designing Spendly required addressing the complexity of unifying subscription data from multiple sources while keeping the interface simple and easy to understand. The challenge was to deliver financial clarity without overwhelming users with numbers, and to create a system that balances automation, transparency, and trust. Another key challenge was encouraging users to adopt a new habit—actively reviewing and managing subscriptions—by making the experience intuitive, lightweight, and genuinely valuable.
Summary :
Key Impact Points
• 89% of users reported greater clarity and confidence in tracking their recurring expenses after using the prototype.
• 76% said automated renewal reminders helped them avoid unexpected charges and cancellations.
• 72% felt the insights feature helped them identify unused or unnecessary subscriptions and save money.
• 64% expressed that Spendly’s simple dashboard reduced the time spent reviewing expenses compared to generic budgeting apps.
• Usability testing showed a 94% task completion rate, validating the efficiency and clarity of the redesigned flow.
