Problem :
Students often struggle to find quick, personalized academic or project support when they need it. Existing resources like YouTube tutorials or formal coaching are either generic, time-consuming, or lack human interaction. Informal methods such as WhatsApp groups or word-of-mouth recommendations make it hard to find the right person, verify skill level, or coordinate availability. This results in wasted time, lack of clarity, and missed learning opportunities. There is a clear opportunity to build a structured platform that makes knowledge more accessible through trusted peer-to-peer connections.
Solution :
Peerly offers a structured platform where students can easily discover peer mentors based on skill, subject, and availability, book sessions instantly, and learn through real-time interaction. The platform supports transparent profiles, reviews, scheduling tools, and post-session feedback, ensuring trust and smooth collaboration. Mentors gain visibility, credibility, and earnings, while learners receive personalized, accessible guidance without delays or confusion—creating a mutually beneficial learning ecosystem.
Challenge :
The core challenge was designing a balanced experience that equally supports the needs of learners and mentors without overwhelming either side. The booking and scheduling flow needed to be simple enough for quick decisions yet detailed enough to establish trust. Creating motivation for peer mentors to participate and ensuring reliability through transparent reviews and usability testing were also key design challenges.
